The GYTC8S fiber optic cable is a self-supporting Figure 8 outdoor optical cable designed for aerial installations and FTTH or access network projects. It integrates a messenger wire (supporting strand) and a steel tape armored optical core, providing both mechanical strength and excellent optical performance in harsh environments.
The messenger part — a galvanized steel wire or stranded steel cable — allows the cable to be easily suspended between poles without the need for additional supporting wires, significantly simplifying installation and reducing costs. The core is made up of loose tubes filled with water-blocking gel and single-mode or multimode fibers, ensuring reliable transmission and long-term stability.
The GYTC8S cable is suitable for aerial, outdoor, and last-mile FTTH applications, especially in rural broadband, CCTV systems, and telecom backbone networks. The steel tape armor provides strong protection against rodents, moisture, and mechanical impact, making it ideal for both urban and countryside deployments.
